Pippin wanders out of his hobbit-hole, whistling on his way to the market and thoughtfully chewing an apple. He skips along the grass-bordered path quite happily.
"Hey Ted! How are ya doing?" Ted squints at him in an annoyed sort of fashion. "Oh well..." he mutters to himself, just as he notices a tall stranger in Ted's house. He realizes with a start that it is the very stranger he had thieved from the night before, at the tavern.
He dives into the nearby bushes and scrambles through, going to the market in a very roundabout sort of way.

Ezzy dashed through the crowded market place, all the while shouting "Pardon me, excuse me, comming through!" Tucking the recently theived coin-purse deeper into her shirt, she never watched where she was going. She looked back to make sure that the deeply annoyed man wasn't following her, as she turned her head she ran right smack into another hobbit. "Oi, watch where you're goin'!" She shouted loudly, re-adjusting her shirt.

Pippin walks along merrily, gnawing at the remaining half of his apple. He skips along and notices a fruit stand. He makes a beeline for it straightaway... and smashes into a hobbit going the other way.
His apple falls from his grasp, seemingly (to Pippin) going in slow motion... Nooooooo He dives at the apple, but it is too late. He grates along the ground for a bit, then watches intently as his apple rolls away from the point of impact, gathering dust and all sorts of other marketplace junk. Suddenly, he glares at the hobbit lady.
"That was my apple! A perfectly good apple, at that!"

Ezzy stiffens as she heard the cross man comming closer, "Right sorry, here, buy yourself a new one." She pulls a shiney silver coin from her breeches pocket and hands it to the other hobbit. As the man storms by she ducks her head and hides it with one hand, as soon as he is passed she straightens and grins. "Ezzy Baggins, pleased to meet. Don't suppose you happen to know the way to the nearest tavern eh? I'm parched." She extends her hand towards the hobbit.

Pippin stares moodily at his filthy apple. He gets startled out of his reverie by the fact that Ezzy starts to apologize. He reaches up and shakes Ezzy's hand.
"Oh no, that's okay. Pleased to meet you. I'm Peregrin Took. Let's go get some ale! The Green Dragon, eh? Hey, aren't you some cousin of Frodo's? A great chap, that." He straightens up and dusts himself off.

Ezzy grins, "Aye, Frodo's my cousin. He tries to keep me from getting into such trouble, make me a proper little Hobbit-lass. Doesn't seem to take though, I see a shiney coin or full coin purse and POP!" She makes an upward gesture with her hands, "Away it goes, where no one ever finds it back." She grins widely and readjusts her shirt again after the gesture. "After all, who would suspect a sweet Hobbit-lass like myself?"

"No one, of course." says Pippin, rolling his eyes and chuckling. "Alas, I am always blamed for the same thing... but of course, I would never do such a thing. Would I then?" He winks at her.

Ezzy looked sideways at Peregrin, pursing her lips in thought. "Well, I'm not so sure. I for one wouldn't trust you to look after anything of mine." She grinned and looked up at the sky, saw the clouds gathering and commented, "Looks like rain."

Pippin looks at the roiling sky. Definitely not his favorite kind of weather.
"Aye, it does. Let's hurry before it breaks. We're about twenty minutes from the Green Dragon, ten if we hurry. Come on!"
The storm clouds darken noticeably even as Pippin utters these words. As he rushes ahead, two consecutive lightning strikes light up the hobbits' frightened faces. The restless breeze carries the scent of rain and a hint of ozone, toying with their hair and their cloaks.
"Oh no..." he mutters. "I hate storms."

Ezzy looks at Pippin strangely, "Really, well, they're not exactly my favorite weather, but they're alright." The first drop lands on Ezzy's nose, she shivers, "Oh, it's going to be a cold one, lets hurry. I know a small inn that serves some fine ale and is at least five minutes away, we should make it before this turns into a downpour." She grabs Pippin's arm and dashes on, they make it just as it starts to pour. "What did I say? We made it before it got too bad." She grins, "C'mon, lets get a table."

Pippin grins, cheerful and relieved.
"I'm sorry Ezzy. Ever since I had a bad experience with a black rider in a storm, I've been a bit afraid of them."

Ezzy grinned back, "No worries hey? I'm not too fond of cold rains, so I had no intention of getting caught in one." She sat down, rather gracelessly in a chair and propped her feet up on another, "Take a seat Pip." She nodded to one of the open chairs.

Pippin gladly obliges Ezzy's request to sit.
He plops down with a humongous sigh, putting his hands behind his head and lolling a tiny bit.
"So, Ezzy, tell me of yourself. What's it like, being Frodo's cousin?"

Ezzy shrugs, "I dunno, I don't have much to compare it to. I suppose just like being anyone else's cousin. Everyone says Frodo's a bit odd, and my uncle Bilbo more than a bit. I never noticed personaly, but then, everyone says I'm a bit odd to." She grins, "I'm sure you can understand that Pip."

"Ah! There's nothing wrong with a little oddness, my dear Ezzy. All the best people in this world are slightly odd, myself included." He smirks a bit. "Hm, come to think of it, all my cousins have the strangest pastimes... Like dear Aldo, who used to tell fortunes with shapes in the clouds. Alas, he nearly died when he tried to do it in a thunderstorm. Or perhaps Fenella, who was inordinately interested in teapots; she collected them, you know..."
Pippin starts to engage Ezzy in an entire, long, history of his family, in true hobbit fashion. He rambles on and on...
